Art of Americas: Secrets Unearthed From Level Seven to Two
The Burden of British Art
Notions of Art: Thoughts from a Dot
2006
This work masquerades as a set of pseudo-encyclopedia of art, but with a definite rejoicing of the coffee-table ‘image over content’. The first book deals with the Art of the Americas, unearthed in an archaeological manner, with a more antiquarian turn of phrase.
The second is a list of all the art in the British Museum of non-British origin, The third is a collection of photographs and musings on art in Singapore.
The books also serve as shameless props, lending credence to the personae of the pseudo-archaeologist and pseudo-academic and to the previous body of work originating from these personae. The books are often mere visual repositories of knowledge, only signifiers of the act of looking, re-looking and selective looking.
